In defiance of the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986, establishments in India continue to hire children. Children are engaged in labor in retail and the service industry and selling on the streets. This includes cooking and selling items on the streets of Manipur and not being able to attend school. These are the visible forms of child labor.
