    Dear Sir /Madam,
Writting after watching “Childhood Left Behind” by Aryn Michelle. It reveals representative situations in the world. Startling! for there is only one childhood in life! If you lose your property, you can restore. But if childhood is left behind, what to do!? Regret! for the world and …the worest… for the victim children. No time to wait!
    Thanks, for the Video!

I am Kumsa Dandena Deme from Ethiopia. I have known IIECL since 2005 when I luckily met Diane Mull in Ethiopia. Since then, I visit IIECL’s website and it has influnced me particularly to make the livelihood and environment projects I design sensitive to practical and strategic child development issues.
Currently, I’m 30 years old working with Woliso Youth Development Association (WYDA), a local NGO. I’m Project Officer.
I’am passionate for child development and do have relevant professional background (certified educator, M. Sc. in Human resource Economics, etc) and research experiences.
Currently, I’m working with women and young people in the rural and urban by focusing on livelihood and environmental projects. As a volunteer, I am mentoring young athletes in Woliso Town (some of whom are vulnerable, rural-urban migrants) in lifeskills.
At WYDA, we do have versatile team of school children creating awareness on different social issues (including strategic child development issues)using art, especially Drama, Poem and Songs as well as speeches.
Having introduced myself, I finally want to know whether I am eligible to compete for your call for innovative projects (Emily Grant).

    With Regards,
    Kumsa D. Deme

    Dear Kumsa,

You are an ideal candidate and type of project that IIECL and the Emily Sandall Foundation are looking to support. We encourage you to apply. I am so very excited and happy to hear from you. With which organization were you working when I met you in Ethiopia? Were you working with World Vision, International Rescue Committee or another entity? What sort of work were we engaged in? Please feel free to write to me via the email address that is provided for the Emily grants, in addition to submitting an application for the fall round. Also, thank you so much for your comment and for keeping up with IIECL over the years. Further, thank you for all that you are doing with children in Ethiopia.

    Warm regards,

    Diane Mull

    Dear Diane Mull,
Thanks for the opportunity that has enabled me to apply for Emily Sandall Memorial Grant Project. Our project is entitled “Social Entrepreneurship for OVC in Woliso, Ethiopia” and directly targets 50 orphan and vulnerable children.
By the way,I first sent to IIECL@endchildlabor because I unfortunately faced failed delivery report of my email that had been sent through ESMF-Grant@endchildlabor.org/ on Sep.2nd, 2011. Fortunately, later by 10th Sep. I successfully resent to the latter email. I apologize if the redundency have ever created certain inconvenience.
I am eagerly waiting for November 2011 when announcement is made. I know many promising innovative projects are being recieved and I hope ours will be among them.

    Warm Regards,
    Kumsa D. Deme

    Dear Diane Mull,
    Thanks for the opportunity.
It is great opportunity for us to receive the Emily Mini Grant for our Social Entrepreneurship project in Woliso. Your encouragement has finally helped us to access this special grant to work for better world for our children. I hope this creates a turning point for my organization to demonstrate how social enterprises can help child development with small external support when systematically planned.

    Regards,
    Kumsa D.
